Capsicum annuum

This is my home grown Capsicum annuum. (Click image to view in full) Most Capsicum species contain capsaicin, this is the chemical that causes the burning sensation after eating, however, in sweet peppers like this bell pepper the gene is recessive. The Capsicum annuum is a perennial herbaceous plant. The flowers are white and the berries that can be green, yellow or red when ripe. Taken by myself.

We got 6 berries that year!
